~I am a creative messymaker, dollmaker, sometimes instructor and pattern designer *Bringing Imagination to Life in Fabric*~

Welcome and thank you for visiting! Here you will find links to my one of a kind or limited edition finished dolls, handmade by me, one at a time, from my own designs. Many of my finished dolls are entirely hand stitched. I also plan to do a line of what I call Adapted Beyond Recognition which will be things made from patterns by other designers. And did I mention maybe some hand stitching or paper mache added to the mix? My *Instant Download* ePatterns are available in my SHOP link above which will take you to ETSY. Currently my time is limited, but creating is healing and good for the soul so I need to find my quiet time for gentle stitching. New designs are on the worktable. Please check back often...as you never know what will spark my imagination next! ~Edna~

January 2022... A New Year

Here we are in a New Year!  Time, again, for new beginnings.  After several years of being absent, I hope to get back to creating my dolls later this year.  For the past thirty six years I have been sharing my life space with my husband. Since his passing over two years ago I have devoted most of my time to making my space my own.  I have been repairing, remodeling, redoing, repurposing, getting rid of stuff.  Instead of creating dolls, I have been creating the life I now want.

Life is a journey.  Look for beauty and blessings in each day.  They are there; we just have to take the time to see them.

Lemons to Lemonade

For thirty five years my life was on cruise control.  In an instant a heart stopped beating and changed my life.  Life was good but looking back, it could have been so much better.  All work and not much play is not a good thing. If you have someone in your life to share a sunset, take a walk, spend some quiet time with, don't take them for granted. Make an effort to turn those every day moments into something special.

I am blessed and thankful to have someone in my life that challenges me, encourages me, inspires me to face my fears, eat healthy, stay active, positive, young minded and reminds me that I am stronger than I think I am.  We all are much stronger than we think we are, we just need to find out for ourselves.

Life is short.  Take some time to add some gentle tender sweetness to the mix and make lemonade out of those average day lemons.

Solitude

Life is an adventurous journey.  Life as we know it can change in the blink of an eye.  With time we have the ability to adjust and adapt.  If we continue to look in the rear view mirror at the past we can not move forward.  If we move forward too fast we end up not seeing what is already around us.  Slow down, spend as much time as you can in solitude, away from the daily noise, listening to your heart and breathing in the magic that exists before the world becomes busy.

Be good to yourself.  We find time for the things that are important to us so focus on the things that bring you joy and give you peace.  The decision is yours.

In the blink of an eye I went from Mrs. to Ms., from wife to widow, from we to me, from constant caregiver to emptiness. Life will never be the same. Now it's time for me to heal, to get to know me and enjoy my own company. I'm looking forward to the new chapters of my life. Life is either a weary ordeal or a magical adventure.  I will be focusing on magical adventures in 2020. ~Edna~

Back In My Comfort Zone...

Year before last I decided to get rid of my old big desk because the drawers would not close properly along with a long list of other reasons it should go. I was downsizing and thought I could use a sweet table that Poppa had made me out of a sewing machine base as my worktable.  That big desk held a lot of supplies so I distributed them among the other storage places in my studio/nest.  After the desk was gone I had to look in several places to gather supplies so it became a scavenger hunt just to work on a simple project.  It did not take me long to realize I had made a big mistake by getting rid of that old desk.

For my birthday last November, my nephew gave me a desk that he was wanting to get rid of.  Can you believe, it was exactly like my old desk except the top did not have a ledge to support my clamp on lights and video equipment!  Needless to say, I was beyond tickled!!!  Concrete blocks solved the problem for my clamp on equipment plus it gave my cubby holes for supplies.

It feels good to have my *comfort zone* back in creating order!

Begin Again...
