The picture in the
top photograph was
actually taken here on
our property before that
sweet old house (circa 1900)
was unfortunately torn down.
Lumber, doors and windows
were reused and now help to
give character to my
*little old house* at
Plum Thicket.
It's old and musty and
smells wonderful in there!

Celebrating 11 years on the Internet...Be sure to visit my blog; it is updated frequently...I'm excited about my WSOAPP Shoppe Grand Opening September 7, 2008!...

Nestled in the beautiful rolling hills and Piney Woods of East Texas, far away from the ordinary hustle and bustle, Plum Thicket is home to the whimsical creations of doll maker Edna Bridges. From painted concrete floors, to restoring old furniture, to making her favorite dolls, Edna is always doing something creative.

After making porcelain dolls for many years, Edna discovered the fascinating world of painted cloth dolls.  On occasion she will be pleased to offer you her One Of A Kind (OOAK) finished primitive folk art dolls, direct from the artist, right here on her website or in her shoppe at Whispered Secrets of a Primitive Past (WSOAPP) Mall (coming soon!), in her Etsy shop and on eBay.

Edna lives in the country with her husband, four dogs, three cats and many wild critters. She has a great curiosity and this website will undergo many changes in the coming months. She hopes some of the things you see here will inspire you to do something (anything) creative. Please come back often to see what sparks her imagination next!!!
