Hello and WELCOME to PlumThicket!

  ~ A message from Edna

We live way out in the country in the beautiful rolling hills and Piney Woods of East Texas.  My Little Old House at PlumThicket is home to my one of a kind folk art dolls and is filled to the brim with doll and craft supplies, my fabric stash and a few antiques.   I also design epatterns so you can make your own dolls. Click on the SHOP link above to visit my Etsy shop where you will find my instant download epatterns, supplies and finished dolls when they are available.

I have been making dolls as long as I can remember, starting out with primitive rag dolls made with my dear grade school friend, Marye Jo, under a big elm tree in Grandma's front yard.  We would sit and sew by hand for hours.  In later years I taught myself to make porcelain dolls.  After we moved here to the farm in 1995, I again discovered the world of cloth dolls, designing patterns and making my own molds for casting my *secret recipe* faces that are dried in the hot Texas sun.  I have a great curiosity and you never know what will spark my imagination next!

~ What's new at PlumThicket?

Currently I am working to declutter and organize our home, my workshop, my Little Old House and dismantling my mold building that was demolished by a large limb that fell on the roof.  It will take a while, but since creating is good for the soul, I have to take a break every now and then to sew, paint or stitch.
